Lots of people compare music to drugs. The feeling, the high they get. Well, yeah, I guess you could say music has that effect on some people but not Trees Hate Everything. The stuff is too good. There’s no crash. Nobody wants to come down, sober up, crash, whatever; but they expect it. I’ve never come to expect such a thing from Trees Hate Everything. Even the new things and the different approach to music that might sometimes pop up isn’t disappointing. This music isn’t puddle deep. The point is, anyone can sell crack, not anyone can make music. Especially music like T.H.E., lo-fi, experimental, magnificently versatile.“

Trees Hate Everything was born in 2007 on a gloomy, fall day. Josie was sitting in a dimly lit room with a pen and paper, and some watercolors. She stared out the window in discontent and realized that the last of leaves had fallen from the trees surrounding her field. With a deep sigh she focused on her drawing and in a fatal attempt to express her own feelings, scribbled the words “Trees Hate Everything.”
The name really was the first thing to come. With that she picked up her steel string guitar and wrote the first song, which she later titled “First Song.” (her originality is soley expressed in her music.)

As far as influences go, they don’t.
The nonchalant expression of feelings in her lyrics comes from every frustration she faces. (Including that of the decline in creative lyrics and orignal sound.) So you can clearly see why any listing of influences would make the soul of her music an utter hypocracy.
But if she were to be listed with similar sounding artists, and not so much artists that influenced her sound – that might be acceptable.
The fact is, when Josie started writing music she didn’t really know much about music. She has a personal preference just like everyone else, but she was not well versed according to current standards. The sound and words alike, arose from the frustration of the low-quality music she was
exposed to.

Pilot Cloud sind Justin Lerner und Nick Biscardi, ein Postrock/Shoegaze-Duo aud Philadelphia in den USA. Ihre Musik erschließt sich einem nicht sofort, doch beim zweiten Hören versteht man, wo das Talent der Gruppe liegt! - Our next release will be the second part of our seasons compilations. As you can guess, the next one will be about the winter, about snowy fields, about christmas, about silence and all these things, that come to your mind. With an exclusive Derrick Hart track again.

- In collaboration with Matti Paalanen from Finnland, we will release a Best-Of compilation of his work. He is a soundtrack composer from finnland, creating the soundscapes we always search for. - We also have a big project: a tribute compilation to My Bloody Valentines classic album „Loveless“. We won’t release the album on our site, but on our youtube channel, together with some videos, divided in parts. We have many of our labelmates with us with this plan, for example Anderlink, Old Worlds, Jakartah and Derrick Hart. We are excited about it ourselves, because we don’t know, what it will become, but we hope, it will become something great!

„Die Zeit verliert sich immer wieder. Die Musik erscheint als kleiner Zufluchtsort in einer hektischen Welt. Eine gewisse Abgeschiedenheit erleichtert das Loslassen. Ein anderer Verlauf prägt das Geschehen. Das bloße Spiel auf dem Instrument, ein sich treiben lassen in entstehenden Klängen und Improvisationen, wird zur Inspiration und treibenden Kraft. Ohne Worte beginnt die Musik ihre eigene Sprache zu sprechen. Kleine Träumereien erheben sich und alles scheint sich kurzzeitig zu verlieren für eine tröstende Traurigkeit.

Die musikalische Basis bilden kürzere Passagen und Loops auf der Gitarre, um die herum komplette Songs aufgebaut werden. Die Spielweise gibt einzelnen Tönen, Melodien und Harmonien mehr Raum zum Entfalten. So können Dinge hervortreten, die sonst vielleicht keine Beachtung finden würden. Es gilt, spezielle Momente und spontane Einfälle in einer Gesamtheit einzufangen, um ihre musikalische und emotionale Wirkung auch in einem vollendetem Arrangement und festen Strukturen aufrecht zu erhalten.

Stilistiken wie Postrock, Slowcore, Acoustic, Folk und Indie finden sich in der Musik von For Solacing Grief wieder.

Time gets lost again and again. The music appears as a last retreat in a hectic world. A certain solitude makes it easier to let go. A different course shapes happenings. Just playing the instrument and drifting in emerging sounds and improvisations becomes inspiration and animating spirit. The music starts to speak its own language without words. Little dreams arise and everything seems to disappear momentarily for a solacing grief.

Short passages and guitar-loops are the musical basis on which complete songs are being written. The style of playing leaves room for tones, melodies and harmonies to unfold. Things become aparent that might otherwise go unheeded. The purpose is to embed special moments and ideas in an entirety to keep up their musical and emotional effect in a completed arrangement.

With IN THE NERVOUS LIGHTS OF COINCIDENCE, its debut in Europe on our german netlabel, the Vancouver-based post-hardcore act Jakartah presents a set of urgent indie-rock. Revealing a tendency towards prog-like time changes and heavy riffing, the Canadian trio’s songs are as challenging as they are compelling. If Isis and Sonic Youth would have met, they would have probably made an album as raw, as powerful and complex as this one.

„For Solacing Grief“ is Steven Deacid, a german musician, who makes music since 17 years, has started several projects, and now, „For Solacing Grief“ is his new project. Guitar-based mixture between Post-rock and Folk, relaxed, optimistic and calm. We can’t wait to hear it. His myspace pages are all under reconstruction. we will post links, when we have them^^

„Jakartah“ was the surprise of the week, it’s a band from Vancouver, and their style of music is somehow new to our label, somehow not. It’s Post-Metal, like Isis, Fugazi or Neurosis, we have to pay a closer listen, but they are well known, they toured much, and first impressions are good. We’ll tell you, when we know more exact things.
